French 75

There’s no better way to mark a special occasion than popping the cork on a bottle of sparkling wine and sharing a toast with your friends. But as more of those “cheers” are heard through the tubes of the interweb, we’re ending up with more bubbly to finish solo than ever before. To mix things up a bit, why not try a classic cocktail that’s topped with the effervescent good stuff?

Let’s make a French 75.

Juicing the lemon

The ingredients are simple

  • A shot of gin
  • Half a shot of lemon juice
  • Sparkling wine

The process is simpler

  • Put a couple of ice cubes in your cocktail shaker
  • Add the lemon juice and gin
  • Shake until the cocktail shaker is colder than you’d like to hold

You can serve it over ice if you want — that’s up to you.

Pouring from the cocktail shaker

Finally, top your glass off with the sparkling wine and serve!
