Three Pepper Salsa
Jeff on Saturday, April 3
Prepare yourself for a really quick one. Finding myself with a lot of peppers around, I threw this admittedly very spicy salsa together as a topping for fish tacos, but it’s great with anything that can handle the heat.
You’ll need:
- Jalapeños
- Habaneros
- Serranos
- A lime or two
- Apple cider vinegar
- Honey
The Process
Basically, all you have to do is dice up the peppers and put them in a bowl.
Once you’ve got everything nice and uniformly sized, add:
- A tablespoon or so of honey
- A tablespoon or two of apple cider vinegar
- The juice of a couple of limes
No precision is warranted here.
After stirring together, I recommend letting everything sit and meld for 45 minutes or longer. With the variety of peppers, you end up with a floral, complex, delicious, and very spicy condiment that goes well with anything that can handle heat.
I look forward to trying variations of this in the future — this sort of thing is an excellent canvas for culinary creativity!
